Hello,

every day is National Poetry Day for Apples and Snakes, but the nation must have its way, so remember that Thursday 4 October is the day you are legally allowed to stop people in the street and do poems at them. Make sure they are poems on the theme of ‘Stars’.

Talking of stars (see what I did there?) 451 this October features the poetic heavenly bodies of Jacob Sam-La Rose and Indigo Williams with the first ever audience choice from Archimedes Screw, Issa Farrah, plus a glittering array of open mikers.

Also going supernova in the next few days is Big Talk, so get yourself along to the Tom Thumb Theatre in Margate on Friday for the stellar Jive Poetic and Jodi-Ann Bickley. And if you can get yourself over to Bristol, go cheer on Ben Lawrence who is representing the South East at the Next Generation Slam.

All details in theSnakebasket – see you there/here/there…
