During 2014 we have been major partners on SPOKE, a yearlong programme of spoken word events and participation activities in and around the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park in East London. Highlights of this programme …

Why you should get into poetry, by Carl Burkitt.

Young people should get into poetry because…

Young people should get into poetry because

48-hour naked parties constantly on tap.

Young people should get into poetry because

of the chiseled physique and

quick metabolism you’re left with.

Hi there, poetry-pickers. Join us, if you will, on a journey into the centre of 2013, in a month that, like an ill-cast pantomime-horse, is considerably more substantial in its posterior than in its front bit. We’ll be proffering paternally prandial poetry at St Thomas’s Hospital on the 17th, with our Fathers’ Day Spoken Word Lunch. And Storycraft also on the 17th will be delighting those immediate products …

Hello,

every day is National Poetry Day for Apples and Snakes, but the nation must have its way, so remember that Thursday 4 October is the day you are legally allowed to stop people in the street and do poems at them. Make sure they are poems on the theme of ‘Stars’.

Talking of stars (see what I did there?) 451 this October features the poetic heavenly bodies of Jacob Sam-La Rose and …

Hello all,

August is traditionally a slow month for poetry, everyone goes away on holiday and us organizers are left twiddling our thumbs and staring at the wall wondering what we’ve done with our lives until the weight of ennui on our shoulders starts to push us closer to the unforgiving floor as … WAIT A MINUTE!

What’s this? 451 in August? Oh Em Gee! And it features who!? Sean Douglas, …
